A building inspection may give you more peace of mind, that a property you have brought is structurally sound and free from any concerning faults. A building report would be sent to you, once the inspection has been completed, containing any possible details on your property, that may need some attention. You could discuss anything possible issues contained in the building report, with your settlement agent and the real estate agent, to see what might be able to be addressed and possibly fixed.

A termite inspection is an inspector looking at things like any timber roof structures, patio structures, flooring sub structures, fencing, and the surrounding areas to look for any evidence or damage from things like termites, fungus decay and wood borer pests. The cost may vary, to the size of the property, and the type of report you would like to complete.

With either a building inspection or a termite / pest inspection, it may cost a little of money upfront, but the cost may save you money, if there are any possible faults with the property you have purchased. It is worth considering having both reports completed on any possible property you maybe purchasing.
